I am 23 and gettig ready to graduate college and last August was put on a project that I needed to graduate,. Between August and December I was under the largest amount of stress day after day I had ever been under. There were fights argumets screaming ect... The point is I was so upset and stressed I was shaking at times and couldent eat and got very very sick in late November
Around that time (Late November) I noticed the entire top of my head was suddenly thin when I got out of the shower, I could see alot of scalp. When dried it looked normal and thick except a small scection at the back of my head above my crown, it has hair there jut thin to where you can see scalp. Its around 1 in (front to back) by 2 in (side to side). I neve have seen any kind of substantial hair shedding, shower, comb, pillows ect notihing out of the ordinary.
It has now started looking filling back in somewhat, but still very thin. I went for a physical recently and told my doctor and
xpressed that I though I was loosing my hair. He laughed and said if I would not have told him he would never had noticed, he said that it was that un-noticable. To me it is very very noticible and I have always had very thick dark hair as well as my parents have perfect hair, my grandparents also have great hair. The hair that is in that thin area is a light color brown when the rest of my hair is very dark. He told me I had nothing to worry about and ordered a blood test, which results have not came back yet. He also told me if the blood test came back normal that he would prescribe Milidoxil and when it was back to normal again I could discontinue use. I asked him several times are your SURE I do not have to use this forever and once it gets better I just stop using it. He replied yes all times.
He never told me what this was, just that it was most likely stress.
Before the August-December time period I have never had any hair problems at all. My hair has always been 4-12 inches and I know with long hair there are a few more hairs that shed than a short hairstyle.
Has anyone ever heard of this??
I am very very skeptical and everytime I see 5-7 hairs when I wash my hair I flip out.
