what look are you going for? if you want a drier look, that still has some good hold to it use American Crew Fiber. If you want more of the gel look, where it is just firm hold, won't move the whole day, then use American Crew Structure- its like a mix between a gel and a wax, strong hold, but adds thickness instead of just pulling all your hairs together and making you look balder. you can get them at any salon.

just out of curiousity, and not to hijack your thread, but has anyone tried using the American Crew thickening lotion? does it work well?

I'm not sure what you mean by "damage" if by damage you mean cause hairloss, then no, no gel is really going to cause hair loss, unless its some type of allergic reaction.

this might not be an option for most of you, but a good way to style your thinning hair while making it look fuller is this

get something called 'spray wax', it's basically wax in a spray can

apply it generously to your hair, then leave it in there for over a day (without washing), and once your hair dries over the wax you can style is with impeccable precision and your hair is all 'fattened up' and looks twice as thick as it really is

amazing effect, allowed me to have 'cool hair' an extra year past when guys at my level of balding would have shaved it off

i would try that, where do you get it?? and do you then just wash normally after a day of leaving it on, or do you have to do this whole cycle of not showering for a day, every other day to get the thickening effect?

yo, you can get it at cvs

here's a link
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/d ... iveCat=499^Query=spray+wax

got 2 b spray wax

I would just prepare for the weekends a lot of time and then not wash it the entire weekend

sometimes I'd go longer though : it's not actually necessary to shampoo your hair as much as people think

I went weeks sometimes, but yeah I'm a weirdo

I would recommend the American Crew thickening lotion or spray. I would also say that Nioxin Liquid gel or any of their gels for that matter are great. TIGI makes some decent thickening stuff too.

Hey Trent -

I use the American Crew Thickening lotion, best stuff I ever found. Works really well. As a matter of fact, if you use it everyday and don't wash your hair for a few days ( I am assuming that it is kind of the same philosophy as the spray wax on this forum) your hair gets thicker everyday. After you shampoo it's thin again??? It's strange how it works but it does. I think also as mentioned you don't need to shampoo as much as people do.

I have a question for you -

What is Semodex shamppo???? Never heard that one before.
