Hello everyone,
I'd like to take this moment in introducing myself before I start posting in other sections of this forum.
I'm a 24 year old from Sydney Australia who suffered with Testicular Cancer in Sept 2003.
Without getting into any great specifics, for the remainder of 2003, I noticed low testosterone symptoms and advised my doctor that i'd like to have my testosterone levels checked.
My results came back in the low/normal range and the doctor stated that the feelings that I had described were due to the cancer and that he believed I was suffering a mild depression. I actually laughed in his face and told him that i'd like a second opinion.
So after seeing an endocrinologist (hormone specialist) she advised that I was in the LOW range of testosterone and since i've been on one injection of Test Enanthate fortnightly.
So now this is where the fun begins.
Seeing as that dose of testosterone is like a rollercoaster ride, my hormone levels fluctuate like a woman going through menapause.
I requested Test Gels but they were not available in AUS and It would cost me an arm and a leg to get imported.
Upon having this condition, i've been losing hair from the word GO.
My hair line has receded a large amount and the front of my hair has become very thin and brittle.
In late 2004 I started a regime which consisted of finasteride 1.25mg daily and 2% nizoral EOD.
I saw great results but had to stop immediately in 2005 when I went on a cycle of accutane for acne, nonetheless caused by hormone levels, but again, doctors chose to debate that.
Upon finishing my accutane, my hair started shedding again from the front at an alarming rate.
I haven't done anything about my hair loss since, but alas, as of next week i'll be starting my regime of finasteride 1.25mg ED, nizoral 2% EOD, American Crew Thickening Shampoo/Conditioner 4x weekly and I MAY possibly throw some Minoxidil into the mix.
I've been around these boards for many of years so I'm well informed on hairloss.
I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences and hearing those of others.
*puts down his suitcases* I think i'll be here for quite some time.
That's my story people
