hey i was wondering

say i'm 22 now and lets suppose in about 5-10 years HM is perfected and is ready for people to use as a treatment

would it be ok to stop taking propecia because this is a permanent hair regrowth treatment (got that info from DarklyCharming the guy know's it all)

but stopping from using propecia or any other finasteride products
wouldn't that mess you up inside especially if you've been taking it for along time e.g 5-10 years

if this is the case

wat would happen and would it be serious to the persons health

because i don't want to have to ake propecia if there is a permanent solution to hair loss

thanks

sorry if a similar question to this has been posted i searched but couldn't find anything

Don't stop till hair multiplication is available at your local grocer.

If you go off propecia, you'll likely lose a good bit of the hair it was protecting in the first year, but other than that, it shouldn't really mess up your body a whole lot, especially if you come off slowly, gradually reducing the dosage until you are at zero. That way, the hormone levels in your body won't shoot up suddenly, they'll just gradually increase until they're back to pre-finasteride levels. I don't think that returning hormone levels to normal will do you much harm, I'd imagine it would be quite the opposite.

Even if HM is out, I still wouldn't stop propecia if its working, until HM has been out long enough to be widely practiced, and the permanence of the newly grown hair is confirmed.

hey, sooner or later there will be a HM technology available - no doubt. Too many companies spend too much money and time on that thing - it cant be simply abandoned now.

But I feel so sorry for that guys with expectations for cure in 5 next years in 2005.
