I don't have normal male pattern baldness. I have a biopsy in a few days, so I will know for sure, but my dermatologist says it's a combination of a vitamin D deficiency, dermatitis, and telogen effluvium. I know, I'm lucky, triple whammy. But my hair falls out all over, and sometimes in large chunks, so I have random bald spots, thin spots and generally sick looking hair all over. I was wondering if they make convincing full head pieces, how realistic they look, if it's worth trying, that sort of thing. I would like to be able to go in public again so I'm trying to look at my options.

When you say 'full head piece' you mean total coverage, with none of your biohair visible? Pieces like that can be very natural looking, but you are confined to fairly longish styles. If you can use your natural hair at the back of your neck (below the bone ridge) and at your temples and sideburns (cropping them short to hide any thinness, if necessary) and replace the rest with a three-quarter hairpiece, that would give you more flexibility from a style perspective. Those areas are the most difficult to replicate with a prosthetic.

Thanks for the info. I'd have to cut my hair shorter and see if those sections can pass as healthy. This might only be temporary, so I'm thinking maybe I can buzz my head, and use the wig to get better access to my scalp to try and take care of its skin issues. So I wouldn't mind paying a bit for mic hair in the meantime. Any certain places online I should check out?

Hey Wheeljack. I have a few suggestions, but I prefer not to talk actual suppliers' names on the public forum in case it looks like shilling. I can't PM you yet, so if you are interested drop me an email at NoahHLTalk@gmail.com.
