Front Hairline Fraying And Health Of Scalp Once System Is Stuck Down

As it says in the title. When I first got my system (first one ever), I was a bit over-zealous when cleaning the front with cotton wool and I stretched the lace a bit. There are several frayed bits at the front, so when I glue down the front hairline, the frayed parts stick out with the front hair. It means that I essentially cannot get that perfect hairline (I was struggling with this anyways!).

Any tips on how to fix/avoid this?

In addition, I have had a few issues with skin irritation under the system. Each time I've removed the system, the scalp is very red. The salon did a full remove and clean the other day and they didn't seem to think it was a problem, but under the base (skin base) I can now feel spots appearing (like pimples). Anyone had this?

Fraying is a normal thing with lace, although the speed at which it occurs depends on how rough you are with the system. Just trim the frayed bit off with some nail scissors, and try to be gentler next time.

Redness and pimples suggests your skin doesn't like the adhesive you are using. Did you (or your salon) use a wet razor when you attached the system? That can cause problems, because a wet razor causes tiny unseen nicks in the skin which can get irritated by the adhesive. Buzzing with an electric razor is better.

You could try using a scalp protector (invisible barrier liquid) to prevent further irritation.

I scrub the adhesive off so strongly that my scalp gets irritated because of that. Nosweat, alcohol and Ghostbond all burn a bit. Nothing too bad though.
