From Your Experience/others, Was There A Difference Between Dutasteride Everyday V Every Other Day

Interesting, how long were you taking it 3 times a week?

every other day is sorta the same as 3 times a week i'd imagine.

Unfortunately that is not how this drug works. It's dose dependant and needs to be taken daily or 3.5mg once a week if you want the 90% DHT reduction. Taking 3 pills a week will not give you that reduction. This drug has a very long half life which allows it to build up in your system over time.

Sorry lacy, i'm begining to sound like a broken record in regards to this topic, i just saw some chart from years back saying that Dutasteride taken every other day blocks upto 95% of DHT.

Why would you need to take it daily because of the long half-life? If anything that would mean you don't need to take it daily. .5mg EOD would be equivalent to .25mg daily. Finasteride should be taken daily because the half-life is so short. Obviously EOD wouldn't be as effective as daily because it is dose dependent, but even .1mg daily was shown to be more effective than finasteride.

I was under the same mentality as yourself before going on the drug. I am merely sharing what was explained to me by my endocrinologist. If you wish to take less then so be it. I'll trust my endo over Bro science anyway.

It's not broscience. Will it be less effective than .5mg daily? Yes. Just as .5mg daily is less effective than 2.5mg daily. The studies done in Japan during the phase 3 trials showed that .1mg daily was slightly more effective than 5mg finasteride daily. .1mg dutasteride is actually approved for hair loss in Japan, as well as .5mg. GSK recommends .1mg daily and if tolerated well to take .5mg. I trust studies over one doctor.

I saw a chart where eod inihbit 80% dht versus ed 90%. I dnt remember how much for scalp dht.

Im curiuos to know how works 1mg everyday. There arent studys about that. ( only for 0,5 and 2,5mg ed )
