For those nervous about going to dermatologist..

So a couple weeks ago I posted concerning my next steps. (Receeding hairline, probably about NW2). I decided to bite the bullet and go to the dermatologist concerning a prescriptions to propecia. I'm kind of a shy guy and this was a little awkward for me - to make matters worse I had a gorgeous PA in training shadowing the doctor.

After getting my courage and asking, I quickly realized it was a NON issue. In less than 5 mins I had a script and was headed for the front door, neither the doctor nor the PA in training even batted an eye.

So for those that are considering it, but may be nervous, definitely go it is way easier than you think.

QQ - what is the cheapest chain pharmacy to fill 90 generic 1mg propecia? CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Kroger, Costco? I dont think I have a costco close. Thanks

I'm happy to here you had a positive experience. It's true some times we can all over think or over complicate an obvious or simple plan of action. Our minds are not always our most reliable compasses. Thanx for sharing.

Very nice post. I was able to get a 30 day supply of proscar for 10 dollars at walgreens. It was a generic brand. It was through the Walgreens rx plan which costs 20 dollars a year.

Yeah im kind of in the same boat, but another problem that gets me is I dont want to hooked into having to go back to the doctor every 6 months to get prescription renewal. I never go the doctor for years unless I have a problem. I dont want to get locked into visiting a Doctor every 90 days or 6 months to get a new script or any kind of check up. A derm I saw a long time ago wanted me to come back in 6 months to see how I was doing just to get more money from me. Not a fan of that

My Doctor renews mine automatically. Don't have to wait or go in.

So you take your prescription in to get it filled after it runs out and they call your doctor or something to renew it? Ive never taken any medication for anything

Ask your doctor to kindly write you a script for 12 refills. I've gotten refill scripts up to 12 months before. Fortunately I had a regular down to earth doctor at the time who had no contention with putting my convenience first. Sometimes you got to play nice with some doctor's for a year before they will slacken off the reigns a bit and finally descend from their pedestal and overly possessiveness and megalomaniacal tendencies. Good luck.

My rx was with Walgreens. You can renew your prescription there and will get permission from your doctor. If your doctor is cool he will just renew it no problem.

Not only did I get a years worth, but I got it in 4x90 day increments.. Less trips to the pharmacy :)

So realistically, what kind of shed can I expect? :shakehead:
