What about older guys who were once in your situation?

I started balding when I was 13 (!). Today I take 1mg finasteride + 1ml minoxidil twice a day. My hair stopped falling, but I don't see much regrowth. My pictures are on the topic "Any chance to see a regrowth here?"

Learn to accept it would be the long term solution or you can get on propecia and hope you don't turn asexual.

Not averyone can just accept it. I'm going to look completely weird, people are already joking about it, you can't just ignore those things.

Very true. If the "learn to accept it" argument made any sense at all this forum wouldn't exist. Just the simple fact that it does should discount this argument. It's really insulting to post on a site where people come to seek help at a very young age when the bottom line is...they shouldn't have to accept it. In time if they can, then so be it. Although if they can do something about it, why not.

Yes, I agree with what you're saying but, if you can't/won't take a internal DHT blocker there is not a good chance of even maintaining your hair. Just saying you could learn to accept it, because unless something amazing comes out in the next 5 years, you will be forced to accept it one way or another. minoxidil won't help in slowing down the baldness and a hair transplant at a young age is very unwise. The truth hurts.

80% of the young people in the "Tell your story" forum aren't even Norwood 1.5's.

Yes, I agree but unfortuenatly if you notice you are losing hair at a young age you most likely will be bald young. The guys who lose hair at 18 are usually have the most aggressive hair loss, with the exception of the mature hair line.
These guys should be worrying because their hair will go faster.

Everyone knows that the younger you catch hair loss the better a chance you have at saving your hair. No-one metions that the younger you notice your hair loss the smaller the chance you have of being able to stop it. Even with Finasteride/Minoxidil/Nizoral combination I don't think I'd be able to stop my hair loss, Genetics is going to win out eventually. Now I wish I could accept this, because I know it's going to happen anyways, but the mirror keeps reminding me of how odd I look. I know if I saw the future me walking down the street I'd look twice and think, "Wow, that guy looks odd". All at the ripe young age of 20-21(probably).

Agreed a DHT inhibitor is a must if a person is serious about battling hairloss.

I was receding on one side of my scalp at 18. I am now 24 and both my temples are receding and one of them is beyond a norwood 2 with the other slowly following. I also have some crown thinning but its improved thanks to propecia which i had to unfortunatelly drop. That might not sound bad but the very front of my hairline in the middle is a norwood one. I have an obvious v shaped hairline and its only a matter of time before my crown starts to show again. Now i dont think hairloss is easilly accepted at any age but i do think its much worse for a young guy. I think your more likelly to suffer ridicule for losing it young. I sympathsize with guys like decro its extremelly difficult to come terms with this at such a young age. It absolutelly stinks. You naturally think this kind of thing doesnt happen until your 30's at least (at least thats what i thought until i understood hairloss). At least if you went bald slowly you could adjust to it more easilly in accordance to your age, but that doesnt seem to be the case. I feel my hair is where it should be in ten years time.

Yeah, I won't mess with my hormones, and I can't accept it in the sense that I can't be the same person I used to be. Used to love music. Haven't listened to it in months because all it does is remind me of the days when there was some hope in my life. Never had a girlfriend, but always thought that sooner or later I would grow out of my acne and my 30's would be great. Nope. Was interested in going back to school to get some sort of career job, now, as far as I'm concerned, any job that doesn't allow me to wear a hat and not shave my face at all (to cover acne/rosacea) is out of the question.
Oh well. Some win, some lose.
