Football Writer Patrick “paddy” Barclay: “fleshy Obelisk”

My friend once said of football writer Patrick Barclay that he didn’t “want to hear that fleshy obelisk peddle his haughty ignorance”. I found this to be a funny and witty put down at the time but I’ve since asked said friend if he felt his antipathy towards Paddy was influenced by his baldness. He said no and that the bald dome gave him presence.
