Hello,
Kinda new to the board how you all doing? I'm considering propecia right now, but currently I am on another medication and I am going to wait until I'm off this medication before I start the propecia. The majority of you think to seem that folligen seems to be the best alternative product? Correct? I am considering this treatment but for anyone that is currently using it I would like to know how it is going? Also how's splitting proscar into fifths does this seem to work out allright? Is it difficult to split proscar into fifths? Thanks for the info?

Hey Viper:

I think you may be mistaken about people considering folligen the best alternative to propecia. Folligen for the most part only helps with irritation although some claim it helps to regrow hair faster and decreases the potentence of sheds. Since propecia affects DHT most people would consider spironolactone the most viable alternative because it effectively reduces dht as well.

Ditto on Kramer3's post. The best alternative to finasteride seems to be spironolactone (except perhaps less studied drugs like Dutasteride, Fluidil, and RU). Folligen is not going to save your hair on its own.

Still, folligen is a great additive to any routine.

Most people (including myself) seem to feel spliting Proscar into 5ths is too much of a hassle, so instead we just split it into 4ths.
