Iam about to give Folligen a shot, but I dont know which of them to pick. Should I start with the Cream, lotion or Spray. The Spray seems to be better since it doesnt have any alcohol and brings Aloe vera too (I avoid Alcohol...bad experiences) Spray would be my bet...but in the folligen site they recomend you to start with the cream (which brings "cetyl alcohol")

How many times do you use it per week??? I am concerned that using daily I may get more irritation.

Thank you!!!

I use Folligen therapy spray about 4 times a week. My hair is very very short, so a few squirts is enough to cover it sufficiently. I highly doubt you'll have any scalp irritation from using it; in fact, I think you'll find it serves as a great supplement to any existing regimen to HELP with scalp irritation.

Also, in fact, I think it's probably more beneficial as a supplement to help prepare the scalp for other topical treatments than it is serving as any kind've stand-alone treatment. In other words, I use it for scalp health to maximize the chances (and relieve inflammation) of my other topicals more than anything.

Give the spray a shot. It's completely painless to use, and it's easy to apply to thick or thin hair. I have no idea how the cream or lotion works, but they seem like they'd be a big pain in the arse to apply.

Thank you bluesmiley!!! one last question...

Since you said "a supplement to help prepare the scalp for other topical treatments" Iwonder, Do you use it before or after Minoxidil??? Do you think it would help penetration of Minoxidil???

Cheers!!!

There are competing schools of thought on whether to use it before or after applying it to minoxidil. I honestly don't know which is best, but I'd check out the Folligen thread on here (go to the product review section for Folligen and see the discussion thread from there) to see what you can find. I doubt it matters much.

If you have doubts, just space out the treatment at least 3 hours. I've found that I can apply Folligen at any time of day without it messing up my hair, and in fact, I love the smell and the conditioning aspect.

Oh, if your hair is thick, you MIGHT want to apply the therapy spray with a dropper (like a minoxidil dropper or something). I keep my hair shaved, so I never have a problem getting the folligen into my scalp, but long haired users might, and I know a few people just use a dropper in that case.

Regardless, I see the spray as being superior to the cream or lotion...I have no idea how anyone applies that stuff without making their head a mess, unless the lotion or cream just dissolves as you work it into the hair/scalp, or something.
