I know theres already a Follica thread, but as im not really a science-boy, I cant really understand half of whats said there, and i bet there are more people like myself..
So I read throw the website from the links gaven on the other thread, but still some things are not very clear to me, so here goes a few *basic* questions for the noob Follica reader:
1) -(lets start with the bottom :)) I didnt quit get how thier methood going to work (i know its a register patent so i dont expect to go into the details but more to understand the general idea)? as far as i understand they are going to do some sort of peeling on the scalp and then apply some medics, is that correct?
2) Assuming this is the method they are going to work , it sounds way less complicated then going throw a *whole* hair transplant process, so how do you think this will effect the price? will it be cheaper - as will it be something affordable when it comes out?
3) Did they already stated treating/testing on people yet?
4) When do you think they will give some updates?
5) (Now thats a tough one so im not really expecting an excat answer) Any ideas what are the chances that they will actuallly succes with thier project? and if they will how effective will it be? will a NW5-7 can get hes hair line back to NW1 for example? (I read that Intersytex working on a methood to duplicate the hair roots/follicals so its clear that a unlimited graft supply will give a NW5 a good chance to go back to a full hair head..)

Im not naive, and do know if you would know the exact answers I woulnt have started a new thread, this thread is ment for people like myself that really have no clue and would like to get the general idea beyond the fuss around Follica..(If you dont find the thread suitable, be my guest and delete it..hope you dont tho)
Thanks in advance, Smooth.

I can't answer most of those questions but I think they will be going with a dermatological laser instead of a peel or wheel to remove the epidermis. The price of this is already established and depends on the area you will need treated. An entire NW7 scalp would probably run you $2,500-$3,500 for this alone. Then it's on to the topicals, which nobody knows for sure what that will be so price is a total guess. I have absolutely no idea here, anywhere from a few hundred dollars to maybe a few thousand, no clue. Minoxidil and/or propecia is cheap so add another $100 max.

That's pretty much it, unless there's some additional post procedure in-office care they will need to administer.

I don't think they have tried this on humans yet but they might be doing this right now, they've been pretty tight-lipped for several months.
