Hello everyone,
For the past 4 years or so I've had a patch of hair near the top of my scalp that has been giving me problems. Before the problems began, this area on my scalp was mostly covered with blond hair (even more so during the summer months), while the rest of my hair is a dark brown. When I was 19-20, I noticed the hair began to thin a bit. Now a few years later, at age 24, the hair remaining is quite thin, leaving now a red patch on my scalp. With my previous hair style, I could cover it up a bit with the way the rest of my hair would lay, but two days ago I said eff it and buzzed my head. I can now fully see the difference in scalp color and the the size of the patch. The patch often is a little irritating, with a bit of itchines. And even now as I write I can just feel that it is there. Oddly enough, 2 nights ago, while laying in bed, (mind you I wasn't even thinking about "it") the area began to pulsate. <Yes I know that sounds a little odd.
Anyways, I've never gone to a dermatologist to have it looked at, frankly because I've never had the money or time to put into it. But now with the discovery of your forum I thought someone could shed some light on my issue.

As a side note, as a young child I used to twirl my hair in this area quite often.
Thank you, and I appreciate any feed back. Cheers
