I am 38 and a norwood 2- 2a scale.. Butin the last 9 months it has been getting noticeably worse, where I where a hat most days..... i have been using only nizoral 2% for the last 3 months.... I have been reading combining them with minoxidil and finastride , the big 3. Just a little worried about the shedding and limp penis issues I have heard about. Also what concerns me is the constant daily regiment for upkeep. Question is , is it better to just go ahead and get a hair transplant and get it over with or try minoxidil and fina or maybe just try one of them to start along with the nizoral.......I am freaking out especially my gf is 24 !!! Please help....thx in advance

Im pretty sure even if you went to a hair transplant Doctor they would want you to try finasteride first and then reassess the situation after 1-2years. This is because finasteride may do enough to keep you happy on its own, or at least stabilise the hair which you have left so that a proper assessment could be made as to the likely costs and expectations of a hair transplant in the short and long term once you begin to lose native hair.

recommended doses are 1mg finasteride once a day. 1ml minoxidil twice a day. these are doses for optimum benefits but some users have found routines different to these that suit them best. shedding is reported to be a sign that the treatment is working. may be taking the treatments at low doses at first and gradually increasing will minimise the shedding and help your system build up to the full dosage.
