I have been researching online and found that there are two versions; a liquid form and a foam version.

I understand that with the liquid form has a compound propylene glycol which can irritate the scalp and cause allergic reactions. I used to have a case of psoriasis so the last thing I want is to irritate the scalp and bring that back.

My questions for you:

1: Is the foam version just as effective as the liquid version? I will be applying it straight onto the balding spots that I have (as seen in the photos).

2: I'm thinking of going with 5% (is that a good decision)?

3: Can I apply it once a night or do I have to do it twice a day?

4: Based on the photos that you see, do you think I will have good results? (regrowth?)

I really appreciate your help. Thanks guys

Hey unkown, i'll offer you my advice but what im gonna tell you isn't what most of the forum users would consider safe. Between liquid and foam i cant comment as i could not commit to lathering my head with gunk 2x a day. Your hairloss pattern is a bit weird, which would make it really difficult to apply the minoxidil lotion properly unless you buzzed your hair. Your best bet would be to start the pill version of minoxidil, its called loniten, at a low dose. Ive just started today so i can't tell you its working for me but let me tell you this; out of all the loniten users ive read about only few did not respond ( in respect to regrowth or maintenance ) The ones who did reported an overall thickening and some even experienced amazing regrowth, like NW3 to NW1. The flip side is the foam/liquid version i hear alot more about how it has not worked at all.
Pill version is estimated to be about 70% more effective than the topical with a higher success rate. ( not to mention alot cheaper )

HOWEVER. It is something used for the treatment of severe hypertension ( high blood pressure ) which makes it one of the riskiest treatments for hairloss. At a low dose of 5mg or 10mg daily you could probably avoid these side effects and still retain the benefits of the hair growth. I would advise you look imto the pro's and cons of both topical and oral minoxidil and make an informed decision. Good luck :)
