First system, looking for some feedback to get it right the next time

I should buy some thinning shears and watch a youtube video on how to remove density. Some systems I receive only need thinning in specific spots. ThenI dont have to run to the stylist and pay an extra 20-30 bucks for 5 minutes spent working those thinning shears.

Yeah, the guy I'm using is semi-retired, so he won't be around forever. I would love to be able to learn to thin a system out myself. There are some videos showing how to cut+style a system and I may try that some time as I've always thought it would be interesting to learn.
