So after months of scalp inflammation and thinning all over I decided to get on finasteride. Just took my first dose of finpecia 1 mg. here's to hoping for no/minimal sides and hair regrowth...

How long should I wait however befor starting minoxidil foam on my crown? My crown is really starting to thin badly...

Don't do anything with rogaine until you've seen what finasteride is doing/will do for you. You need to add them one at a time so you know if it's actually doing anything. If you do them at the same time (like I did) and you get results....then you're locked into doing both treatments, even if you're not sure which one is working the best.

I would agree not to start minoxidil until you've seen what finasteride can do for you. Give it a year. finasteride might stop your hairloss and regrow some hair, which may be enough for you to not need minoxidil. minoxidil is a pain in the ***, you have to do it 2 times a day everyday and it adds a lot of cost to treating your hair loss. I tried using Rogaine foam for a couple months but could never stick to it and found it to be a pain in the *** so I stopped. I'd say minoxidil should be for people who either can't take finasteride, or who haven't seen successful enough results on finasteride.

Rawtashk: I've heard a lot of people in your situation say they stopped minoxidil and didn't notice any loss of hair so you may be able to stop and be fine.

Thanks guys. I'm on day 4 now. Only side so far has been a slight burning in my penis, but that could have possibly been due to peeing right after ejaculation lol.

Just to make sure, finpecia is legit right? Don't get me wrong, I'm not EXPECTING sides and regardless of side effects, I was thinking today,
I ordered finpecia from inhousepharmacy.biz via Cipla. They are real right? Thanks

Yup thats what i take...and yeah pissing after ejaculating will definitely cause a burning sensation sometimes..and you probably notice it more now because you're hyper aware of your dick right now

Yeah man tell me about it. Godforbid I get
Sides, and I'm not saying nobody gets them, but i was staring at my dick the past 2 days looking for changes. I can see how in some cases it's all in the head.

yeah i know what you mean..you'll get over it...most people these days probably spend the first month or two staring at their dick thinking they see something different when they start finasteride due to all the stories online

Just a one week update. No side effects so far whatsoever of any sort, let's hope it stays this way. I still have scalp burning/itch/inflammation but it has kind of subsided just a tad bit. I'm hoping it goes away within a month.

Got a bit of ball ache after being on .5mg finasteride for a few days when I started it. Stuck around for about 3 days, then happened off and on. Went away for 3 years. A year ago I went to 1.25mg of finasteride....and the ball ache came right back. Stuck around for about 3 days, then happened off and on. Been gone for the better part of a year now.

Don't freak out about it, nearly everyone I know that's been on finasteride has experienced it.

Yeah I am not concerned about the ball ache unless it persists for longer than a couple weeks.

The general concensus seems to be that it's your body adjusting to higher levels of testosterone. Once it does, the ball ache disappears.
