i get finpecia from inhouse. it basically comes in those labeled 10 pill bubble strips, no actual finpecia box. i'm about to leave on a two month trip across europe. my question is, since i don't have a prescription.. how should i go about packing my meds? check-in luggage? my biggest concern is embarrassment, being sort of exposed in public, you know? i don't want to end up having to explain myself in front of everyone. i have a buddy who's traveling with other meds, but he's got a script. he said they asked him about it once. i'm sure it varies from airport to airport (i'm also going to be crossing a whole bunch of borders over the course of the trip, obviously). any suggestions? what should i expect?

You should get a prescription from your doctor and get the real thing at a pharmacy. Then you have absolutely no worries.

i know, i know. but i haven't yet. i'm broke from money spent on tickets and what-not. honestly, do you think i will have a problem? should i just leave my meds at home and home i'm ok until i get back in a month or so?

Well, all I can tell you is that I was in Europe about 3 months ago and my bag was searched twice...both in train stations. Searched my Dopp kit where foam, Proscar, razor, toothpaste, etc... resided.

how was that? did they question you about any of it? or just sort of look through discreetly?

They removed everything as I recall (search table next to the x-ray). They did not question any of it....but my Proscar was in its prescription bottle with my name on it. Random strips of Indian pills might have been different, I don't know. I personally wouldn't risk using that crap anyway.

hm... well, i guess i'll just have to decide whether to put them in my checked luggage or hide them on my person somehow. maybe i'll just fewer pills and cut my dosage for a while just to lighten to load of meds i'll have with me.

stick them in your checked baggage.

if you get questioned, tell them its for BPH instead of hairloss. If you're worried.
