College....you're doing it again....

3x per week is $36 per month, and you know it is real and don't need proscar.

If you cutt up proscar to $6 per month, 3 dutas per week will run you $9 plus the $6 which gives $15 total, and you have to do two pills instead of one.

In the first statement you say that with dutasteride @ 3x per week...I don't need proscar. Then the next statement you say to cut up proscar to do 1/8 every day in addition to the dutasteride.

WTF? What other chemicals are you ingesting during these studies man?

Here's what I think I've gathered from the thread so far....

If I get a script from my Doctor for avodart...I should get 30 pills and take that 3x per week...right?

IN ADDITION TO THAT.....I should get proscar from some other source and cut that up into eighths, and take an eighth every day....right?

What strength (mg per pill) should I get for the avodart? And for the proscar? And where can I get proscar?

Anyone else have any insight before I turn loose?

I will further add that propecia should make 83% of men keep the hair they have. Combining it with minoxidil and other topicals should improve that. You don't have to take dutasteride, and I don't recommend it to people who have mild loss. I recommend it to people who want to regrow peach fuzz and other very thin hairs over larger areas.

I also realize this belongs in the dutasteride forum, but the thread started out with many treatment plans, others even commented on the dutasteride, and then the author asked me what dose i recommended, and i told him why i recommend what i do. I'm more aggressive with myself by doing a loading dose because I'm not worried about side effects. I've got sex drive to burn.

I believe it belongs in the dutasteride forum as well, however the topic didn't start off as addressing dutasteride directly, and I'm not sure as to the protocol of moving a thread to another forum.

Nonetheless....I'm now using propecia and I've made the decision to try dutasteride. Since there are some on this MB that have already blazed the trail, and some that have done extensive research, and some that can apparently pick apart chemicals....I'd just like to get the feedback and direction that I'm looking for while we're here.

No. If you get Avodart from your doctor, you can throw away the proscar.

If I told you about the 1/8 proscar BEFORE you told me you can get the Avodart prescription for sure. You need to have a drug you know is real. If you want the dutasteride, but can't get a prescription for it, you can but the dutasteride online, but should take the 1/8 proscar as a back up in case the dutasteride is a sugar pill, since you know the proscar is real if your doctor gave it to you and you bought it at albersons and not www. cheap-drugs-from-columbia.com.

Avodart is better for your hair than proscar. FDA phaseIII trials confirm that. I recommend 3x per week. If you really want to be safe, do 2x per week, or don't do Avodart at all except to save money.

in case a newbie reads my post and does not read any other posts, I must mention that about 2/3 of doctors will not prescribe dutasteride for hair loss to anyone who asks. However, if you show them you know what you are talking about, and you ask for less than one capsule per day, the percentage who say no decreases. I just don't want to spend $60 on possibly 2 or 3 doctors yet, though I will soon, especially if the Dutas tests don't turn out fantastice.

I also must point out that some doctors won't even prescribe propecia, as multiple people on this forum have been turned down.

I also must point out that if you buy overseas drugs, there is a chance that instead of a sugar pill, you will get cyclosporin pills and die if you don't figure out why you are catching so many colds and infections all of a sudden. If you are taking other medications, and a swtich happens, you could have drug interactions and die. I read pages in proposals to FDA listing drugs Avodart does not interact with, and it did not list any drug interactions. Ask your doctor about this anyway. If you have any health problems you should not go popping meds without doing some research and asking your pharmacist or doctor question. I don't have any health problems.

LookingGood!,

I'm not attacking you, but if all doctors are authority and I am not qualified to give advice, just look at Dr Lee's false statement that his azelaic acid inhibit's 98% of DHT, the fact that I know this is false, and the fact that if you ask your doctor, your doctor will probably say he/she does not know much about azelaic acid.

My doctor would not prescribe me Avodart because she said she had never heard of it and does not feel comfortable prescribing something she has never heard of.

i google'd avodart drug interactions. all i could find were "do not take it if you have prostate cancer or are allergic to other drugs or dies or preservatives." Yeah, so people should have a blood test for prostate cancer before starting dutasteride.

everyone should google it some more and see what else they can find. we already know about the liver test after 6 months. my brother's doctors said only 1 in 1000000 have very susseptible livers, but that after a 6 month test, you can know if you are one of them. i'll doubt check with him on that.

i wonder how the risk of not getting your liver tested when on finasteride or dutasteride compares to the risk of not getting your testicals checked every year by a doctor. is it over kill to spend money on tests for dutasteride and finasteride if we are not even getting regular check ups for other stuff?
