Hey guys, been on Finastride 1MG for just over a year now, maybe 13 months.

Also use Minoxidil twice a day for 2 years.

-

I felt like using Finastride has improved the quality of my hair, bit thicker and easier to manage/style since being on it and my Dr who has seen me for this 1 year period thinks it has stabilized my hair thinning.

In the last 1 month I can see clearly from pictures from say 3-6 months back that it's definetely hit my hairline and now my hairline is thinning and I can see hair thinning in the entire hair frontal area. This really upsets me as initially my problem was really with my temples now more recently I'm noticing my frontal area.

What does this mean? Does it mean Finastride has lost its power, is it time to stop it and try something else?

I've had different Dr's recommend different things including transplant for frontal area and Micro Scalp Treatment.

I have attached 3 pictures to show how I "have" to style it and 2 others were I'm showing clearly the frontal thinning. This was not like this 3 months back, I feel this is literally just in the last month I've noticed this. Also I feel if I just trying to style my hair a bit, I see 5-6 hair stranges just fall out like that.

Anyone know what this could be?

I felt i was losing ground after a couple of years on finasteride and jumped on avodart. Maybe worth giving it a try?

dutasteride. yeah. not been on it long enough to comment yet. Have a read up on it and see what you think. If you have any sides on finasteride i might not be best to try it

I've been told about Dutesteride and my Dr who prescribed me finasteride is just really against it. He says its too strong and is not good for what it can do in long term

Whatever is perceived to be long term side effects of dutasteride, you can surely get it from finasteride too.
