finasteride side effects - other options

Hey guys, my first post so i'll run through the past month or so..

Started on minoxidil foam twice a day and finasteride 1mg.

The noticable side effects, I've put on quite a bit of weight, I have probably been using slightly over the amount you're supposed to use but I've probably put on weight because I've been a lazy bastard since I finished uni. I'm using less now but that isn't the side affect I'm worried about.

I was on finasteride for about 3 weeks, I didn't notice any shedding (which I think may happen for the first 2 weeks). I had noticed that my semen was watery but that didn't really bother me. I was feeling really great about how it was going but during the 3-4 week mark my erections suddenly were nowhere near as strong as they used to be. Finally I woke up in the morning without an erection and for about 2 days I couldn't get hard. Probably one of the worst weeks of my life, but thankfully my penis came back online after about a week or so.

I've noticed since coming off the finasteride a small shed, the minoxidil seems to be working.

Is there anything which could help me and wont turn me into a eunuch lol?

You are so lucky that everything has gone back to normal. You say it was the worst week of your life? maybe walking away from hair loss and moving on with your life is the best option now that you have seen there are worse problems.

Well done for graduating. I just dropped out of university due to depression because of the problems finasteride has left me with.

Are you serious? You've admitted that you've been lazy, which I assume means you're less active, and yet you still want to blame a topical for your weight gain?

Anyway, some people continue through the initial side effects and after their body adjusts, the side effects stop. I'm not telling you to go back on finasteride, I'm just saying.

When did I push all the blame onto using minoxidil? I clearly said it's more likely because I've become a lazy bastard, which is why I also said I'm not worried about it.

lol, well you started the paragraph with the words "the noticeable side effects" and then immediately talked about weight gain. You said you weren't worried about it because that "isn't the side effect I'm worried about" .... so, yeah, you did say it. Maybe you didn't mean to, but you did label your weight gain a side effect twice.

I will leave this thread alone now so that maybe someone else can respond to your question.
