Finasteride Shedding

Hello all,

I've read up a lot about how finasteride leads to shedding, however the information I've read all seems a bit wishy washy and inaccurate. Does anyone know a lot about this topic, either through extensive research or anecdotal evidence?

I currently still have my juvenile hairline for the most part. I made a thread not too long ago addressing it. Unfortunately, my left temple has started to recede slightly and I can foresee the right side sharing the same fate. Luckily I have been able to catch my hair loss in its earliest of stages and I am determined to act now, rather than later. The reason I am so curious and worried about the shedding is that I'm terrified that by taking finasteride, my hairline and hair situation will worsen severely. I have heard that there is no real correlation between finasteride and shedding and that the shedding is just due to regular male pattern baldness hairloss as finasteride takes several months to kick in. I have also heard the opposite about how finasteride definitely causes shedding and it's a natural stage.

I would greatly appreciate any clarification on this issue. I am also certain that other members of this forum will benefit greatly from a discussion about finasteride and shedding.

Okay i had the same problem (receding temples) the finasteride will cause 0 to no shedding, however minoxidil will hit you hard ( i used both ) also don't expect regrowth from Finasteride quickly (less than 6 months) since you're only noticing receding the front of your head i really recommend minoxidil once a day + finasteride, try the best of both worlds, regrowth and maintenance

this is after 6 months of minoxidil and 1.5 months of finasteride. ( you can notice new juvenile hairs )

Got any before pics Aldo, hair is looking on point in the pic you posted, your hairline is low so I'd be interested to see what it looked like before hand.

Your hairline is looking good bro, full on juvenile mode. I'm quite reluctant to get on minoxidil immediately as ive heard so much mixed stuff about the stuff. The whole shedding process terrifies me to be honest. But I will definitely start off with finasteride. I'm hoping finasteride will be enough to help with my receded temple.

This is a pic of my left temple which has receded slightly, notice it arches slightly. it used to be straight.

it was tough finding an image before i started using minoxidil cause i wasn't consistent with the images (like i did with finasteride) pretty much all the new hairs wasn't there and my thickness was kinda lower

Looks like zero hair loss in that first pic except the slightest temple recession afterwards. Like others said, thats pretty much a nw0 and a low *** hairline to boot. I never had a hairline like that when I was 10 lol, big ol' forehead of mine.

Lol yours is one of the best hairlines I've seen, no joke. Definitely wouldn't have gone on that stuff if I were you, but hey maybe you would've started balding in a few years without it.

Youre not wrong but it does regrow hair in some people as well. Maintainence would be good for you though I agree.

propecia help

I read that taking propecia can give you Gyno..
i have been taking propecia for 5 days i am 18 yrs old... ever since i hit puberty as far as i can remember i had a slight Gyno .. i have puffy nipples with a small lump underneath my nipples.. AT THE MOMENT it does not bother me since i workout and you cannot tell as much..

My concern is will my gyno get worse if i take propecia ? my gyno as stayed the same for the past 5-6yrs
Also any suplements i can take to combat getting gyno?

It looks like im thinning? Interesting. My hair is still really thick and plentiful, its just my left temple hairline. But yeh hopefully finasteride will consolidate my thickness

Same thing with me man. Just worrying about people saying that finasteride destroys the hairline and stuff but if you do nothing male pattern baldness will anyway.... Pretty certain that an anti-dht drug can't make baldness worse lol or at least you'd hope.
