Hi guys I have been browsing this forum for a while but this is my first time posting.
I'm 23 and my hair loss began in early 2014, my hairline started to recede in early 2014 and it receded very very slowly. In March 2015 the receded hairline became a minor "M" shape and at that time I noticed I had to do something about it. So I started applying 5% minoxidil at the temple area, it didn't too much apart from growing a few tiny hairs but I am not complaining because my hairline only receded like 2mm since the application of minoxidil.
In July 2015 I noticed my crown area was thinning and I could just see a bit of my scalp so I also started to use minoxidil on my crown, things didn't improve and the crown area kinda worsened in winter and I constantly see 10+ hair on my pillow when I wake up or 30+ when I wash my hair. So I decided to start taking finasteride on 31/12/2015, it has almost been a month now since taking finasteride and I no longer see any hair on my pillow and I only lose around 10 hairs when I shower. Things seems to be doing well, however since taking finasteride my crown area seems to have worsened which I don't understand, is it possible that this is a finasteride shed? Whenever I apply minoxidil on crown I lose around 10 "1 cm long" hair. Please could anyone give me any advice, how come my crown is getting worse when I am losing less hair...
My hairloss had been unnoticeable until I started finasteride.... Thanks everyone
I'm an east Asian btw
