Finasteride shed at 9 months?

Hello, I started taking finasteride last May. Up to now, haven't experienced any loss or gain, but starting a few weeks ago I have been losing a lot of hair...more than I have ever before. Before starting, I only was losing hair at the temples, and now I am getting noticeably thinner all over. I've never been able to see my scalp on the top of my hair before, and now I can.

My question: is it normal to shed at 9 months? Will this hair grow back in time if I continue finasteride or should I hop off it and pray that what I've lost will grow back?

I'd really, really appreciate comments. As you all know, this is a very stressful and anxiety-inducing experience.

Thank you.

I guess I'll keep trucking on. Part of me wants to just get off finasteride though. I had really thick hair before, just a slight receding hairline...now my hairline is slightly worse and I am thinning all over.

Dude,no one can really tell you 100% what's going on..i am the same example like you..i started finasteride..3-4 months shedding..and on month 3.5 - 4 the shedding dissapeared suddenly..after 1 month,i had very good regrowth..after the regrowth my hair was thick and stabile,no shedding..but only for 1 month..after this 1 month,i started to shed badly and now i lost a lot of hair...almost baseline, even worse...i don't know what's going on..dont stop it,pray to have a good regrowth dude.

I had the same thing like you guys.

I started finasteride and min april last year, in august i added nizoral shampoo. By october i achieved nice regrow, and in december i had a nice head of hair. Then after the hollidays, the inflammation on the scalp became worse and i was shedding real bad for about 5 weeks.

Now since 2 weeks things are going better, the density increases, the itch and inflammtion is alot less. I still notice hair falling out when applying minoxidil.

This could have various reasons:

- the switch from rogaine 2 x a day to Rogaine in the morning and dnc-n spectral in the evening.
- the cold winter we had in europe.
- better routine in minoxidil application.
