finasteride Question: Speed ?

How fast does finasteride begin to combat DHT ? Does it takes weeks to build up in your body before it takes effect or does it begin from the moment you pop the first pill ? ?

It works from day one, but there is a dosing effect so it is a few days before it reaches its optimal level. Finasteride is only in your system for a few hours, but 5AR builds back up slowly so taking it every day keeps the available enzymes at a continually low level and prevents the conversion of T to DHT.

no finasteride is in your system for a whole day...the half-life is 6-8hrs.

since the half life is so low there is no dosing effect like there is with avodart.
thats why there is no use in "loading" finasteride like some people do with dutas.

Yeah, I know that. If you look at the graphs though it takes a few days for the optimum DHT inhibition to occur. In other words it works from day one, but it is a few days to reach its optimum state level.
