My question to all with collective knowledge....if say your worried about male pattern baldness....would taking a .25 dosage a few times a week hurt your hair? Say you didn't have male pattern baldness to begin with? Im curious if it would have a negative effect....hurt non male pattern baldness hair. It seems that lower dht may help existing hair but unsure. I'm sure alot of people have this question...so let's start a discussion. Thanks

A lot of people are complaining about side effects from finasteride. Usually gyno, depression and soft dick. Taking it just in case seems stupid.

I agree but alot of people in the early stages don't know how it may progress. Also they may not even have male pattern baldness but think they do..... This thread is about affects on hair rather than any sides other than scalp/hair. What does finasteride do to non balding people. Who may have bdd to the point where they need to take something to feel they are doing something to help with future hairloss...

You'll know if you suddenly start losing hair quickly. Your shower sink will tell you. finasteride acts quickly, so it's pointless to take it ahead of time.

Not necessarily. Some lose very slowly. What can your shower sink tell you? How do you know?
