Been taking it for a month soon, 1.25mg a day (proscar split into 4). Libido and boners are still great.

However, last week Ive noticed every day that I have a certain diffuse kind of "fog" in my head, like Im always somewhat MENTALLY tired, even tho my body is fully rested. I can sleep for 8 or 10 hours, wake up - body is energetic, but mind feels like Ive only slept like 3 hours.

Noticed this every day for this week now, I cannot say for certain its the finasteride but it might very well be.

Anyone else experienced this and did it help with cutting the dosage?

It goes away eventually. I had something similar to that just after starting dutas although I dont know if it was the cause but probably it wasnt because it went away and it wasn't something that irritated me. Actually my memory is better compared to my pre dutasteride-finasteride stage don't know why but it's significantly better :D brain fog can be a physcological thing if you worry too much about getting side effects.

I have just had to come off Finasteride as it fried my head. Couldn't think straight!

Watch this lizard who was on ITV on about the sh*t he went through.. This pickled me and convinced me to stop!

It's good that you come off, anyone who suffers side effects that effects their day to day life as you explained should not be on the drug. Please just do us all a favor and don't start spamming the board with these videos as we've seen them hundreds of times, and people in your situation come and go from here very often. If the drugs risk isn't worth the reward for you then that's understandable and you should move on. Good luck!

The thing is this forum is for sharing your experience and mine happens to be a bad one with Finasteride. If I were new to it all and working out what to take I too would want anyone who experienced bad sides to put it on here and let me know so I can consider it when making my decision whether to take it or not.

I do get your point about sharing that video though, I do think he was a one off with existing underlying issues that got made worst with finasteride. I will delete that post as it is a bit unfair with that idiot slating it when he's clearly fucked before he took it.

But.. I have found a lot of people who have had life changing side affects from this.. some took it for 5 years and didn't have a single side then one day it hit them, others took it for years then when they came off it hit them.. some took it a few months and got it. It's how you react to it I suppose as some say they've been on it 10 years and are fine.

Also, with further research I found they give it to transexuals when converting from male to female.. I mean that was enough for me.. Plus for me it had way too many side affects. I will be having a transplant next year so I'll go from there.

Im not telling you to stop sharing your experiences man, if you really did have a bad time on the drug then im sure there are others who'd like to know of what YOU felt personally and how it effected you, my point was simply that these videos have made the turns 1000's of times and sharing your story is alot more authentic then saying, "hey! this guy got sides too, so that means everyone has these sides". I hope you're feeling better overall, i definitely think sides are real, im not trying to take that away from anyone.

About your tranny claim, ive done extensive research on that as well before i got on the drug, they give it to people transitioning to STOP the hairloss, noone who's becoming a girl wants to have male pattern baldness hair, so they put them on that in conjunction with like 3 or 4 INTENSE female hormones to halt hair loss in the transitioning period, and also for its secondary effect on reducing body hair. it has nothing to do with the actual sex change.

That would be 5-AR3, neurosteroid reduction and starving of androgen receptors inside the brain... One of the more 'benign' yet common side effects of Finasteride. If you're prone to it, not much can be done sadly. Either live with it or quit.
