finasteride has failed, dutasteride option

So I've been on finasteride for 7 1/2 months and I've only lost hair. I tried going back on minoxidil but it just inflamed my scalp more so I stopped. So what is an effective dosage to take and what are the odds of getting sides compared to finasteride? Are they same? Is it safe to assume that if you had no sides on finasteride you won't on dutasteride?

I've seen many people on here not see results until after a year on finasteride. Just saying.

If finasteride has failed than there is big possibilty that dutasteride wont work for you either. Happened to me
