finasteride = Funny feeling prostate/pelvic floor

Hi,

I've been taking finasteride 0.5mg for about 2 weeks now. I've kept getting this funny feeling in my prostate area that isn't going away. It's almost like that feeling you get when going down a roller coaster.

Has anyone on finasteride had this feeling before and do they know if it goes away or if it is something to be cautious of?

The feeling is giving me tons of anxiety and making me very uncomfortable. I can't sit still in my chair and falling asleep is even worse.

Well...finasteride does shrink the prostate. Thats why it is used in men with BPH. The prostate will shrink due to lack of DHT..so this could have something to do with that. I know what you mean though..I started finasteride again a week ago and had the same feeling for a couple days but today i dont have it anymore.

Are you having any sides or anything?

As mentioned, Finasteride does shrink the prostate to some degree. This may put some pressure on tissues and muscles in your pelvic region, and create some unusual sensations. I can't say personally i've really experienced this, but I really wouldn't worry too much.

Haven't really had a lot of sexual urges...but that may be in my head.
