so after a couple months of being on the fence about finasteride I've finally made the decision to take the plunge. I have the finasteride in hand but have not taken it yet. My one and only Concern is how it can affect my fertility. I understand that many say to drop finasteride for a couple months when attempting to conceive but as many of us know it's not always planned. I'm worried that my wife may become pregnant during the time I'm on finasteride by mistake. If this happens have i jeopardized the health of my child? Or should I wait till I'm done having kids

Won't hurt the health of your kids in any way but if you happen to be one of the unlucky users like me, you could experience watery ejaculate which in turn could cause difficulties if you are trying to conceive. Just monitor yourself and if you notice any unpleasant sides stop taking the pill. Most medical practitioners believe its a safe drug and side effects are really rare.
If I do experience sides how long do you suggest I ride it out for before deciding to drop it?
I appreciate the feed back. Fairly new to all of this and the amount of info out there is very overwhelming even despite the fact that I spend countless hours reading every day

My Doctor asked me to be on it for at least six months but if you get sides & they dont get better even after the second month, you should discontinue it IMO. Stay away from online forums and talk to your Doctor if you face any problems.
