[h=1]Finasteride is a powerful antiandrogen drug which inhibits 5 alpha reductase acitivity. This enyzme converts testosterone to more and more potent metabolite dihydrotestosterone !

I think people who use finasteride for hair loss should be examined to doctor and they should check their sperm count and semen volume..

You do realize a 30% decrease in sperm count and semen volume is not much right ?

Well I'm not planning to ever have children so I consider it a positive side effect, but it's not hard to have children with 70% of your original sperm count.

I agree that people have to be aware of the effects of finasteride on their body, and if you can't accept a 30% decrease in sperm count fine, I don't care, but let me save my hair in peace.

it doesn't permanently lower them to that levels either, although they may never recover quite to normal levels after stopping (although its only like 5% less or something really low than baseline sperm counts)

and yes you could have a child at under 1% of normal sperm counts. Maybe not the natural way, but through some artificial insemination you certainly could. All you need is 1 sperm, it doesn't matter if 99% of the millions are dead, there are still plenty in there
