Finasteride. Anyone experienced side effects taking 1mg, 3 times a week?

Hi. I have just found these forums so hopefully someone can offer some advice please. I have Finasteride 1mg tablets. I am 53 and really want to stop my hairloss but am extremely worried about the serious side effects from the drug. I have been prescribed 1mg daily but am wondering if 1mg Monday, Wednesday and Friday only, would lessen the potential side effects?

Has anyone taken 1mg, 3 times a week and still experienced any side effects? Thanks!

docs on youtube said x3 a week is effective. finasteride keeps your dht levels low for many days and it takes days to make new enzymes. I get side effects 3 times a week because thats only one day off finasteride. I can handle only monday and thursday 1mg. but I still get sexuall sides but at an acceptable level. Actually only been on 1mg twice a week for 2 weeks so we will see in the future.

Im gonna be honest here. Side effects can remain for months after quitting. I never truely recovered after quittng for months. It is a risky drug to play with. I get ejaculation problems (less force) and less semen and worse quality. Probably less morning erections too. But libido and erections are never affected thankfully. But im in the (minority) go ahead and try the drug.

Apparently, if you take it 3 times a week you can still get 65% effectiveness. I just wondered if taking a low dose to begin with will leave less side effects.
So that’s why I was asking if anyone who’s just taken a low dose had an issues. Thanks guys.

Im giving up on finasteride. Just gonna use oral minoxidill. Good luck to you.

My semen just seeps and struggles out like toothpaste. Dutasteride gave me the same side effect. finasteride in the past too aswell as retrograde ejaculation (semen going back inside) im done damaging my sexuall function. Some guys have had results just by using oral minoxidill without finasteride btw.

Sexual side effects are what I’m most scared of so not sure if it’s worth the risk. We can’t get Dutasteride in the UK as it’s not licensed.

you should not take it......
1 in a Million get side effects, and you are even afraid, when stopping the medication if the side effects will stay.....the chances are so low, but you are still worry....don´t take it, get bald

1 in a million is total BS. Who said finasteride even works that good anyway? I was on dutasteride and not even that worked.
