Hey guys. I have been reading this board for some time now. I would just like to say that a lot of you have helped me in getting the courage to even admit I was beginning to lose my hair. That was the first step I had to take in deciding to financially invest myself into fighting male pattern baldness/holding it off as long as possible.

Thus, I feel this is a success in itself so I thought this was an appropriate spot for this post. Now, onto the experiment.....

I first started taking finasteride from United Pharmicies and I recommended it to another guy I knew that had been taking geniune Merck Propecia. He started taking the generic stuff but we both quickely decided to jump back on the geniune stuff as he began losing his hair again the second he jumped on the generic. This may be a coincidence but I figured I'd let everyone know my experience with it.

Anyway, I was on generic Propecia (United Pharmicies finasteride) for about 6 months when I made the choice to go on the geniune Merck propecia on 11/28/08. Since I am unsure about the generic stuff, I am considering this my start date. I did not take pictures until today but wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to do an experiment with Propecia and Rogain. I am going to take finasteride for an entire year with pictures in 3 month increments from today (bear in mind, I am 3 months in already). At exactly a year, I will then add Rogain to my Regime as well. Hopefully, this will help a lot of people in deciding if there is any benifit to using both of them. I will update this post in 3 months with pictures from month 3 and month 6. I will continually update this until my experiment is completed.

I am hoping that myself and everyone on here will be able to benifit from my little experiment. GOOD LUCK and talk to everyone soon!!!!

Why don't you just get a prescription to get genuine Proscar from a pharmacist? It is the same thing as Propecia, just in a 5 mg form. You can then cut the pills and know you have the real stuff and save a TON of money. Merck Propecia is a Rip Off! Just a greedy pharm company capitalizing off of a patent that should have been expired by now...

I don't do that because it is not the drug my doctor prescribed me too....thus, I'm not on it.

Sorry buddy im not buying the implication that the generic stuff you got was fake

i would entertain it if it was from a less renouned website but unitedpharmacies and inhouse have both proven time and time again to be genuine for users on here. Don't waste your money on propecia. Note that you should have been on it about a year before making any conclusions anyway!

Also, what happened your friend is bound to be a coincidence.

There is no need to wait a year, Propecia and rogaine foam work very well together for most people

Why let your hair get worse by waiting ?
