Finasteride and Hair Density

I was on finasteride for around about 7 months... but I was told my the doctors and friends to stop as I told them about the side effects. Before I started finasteride the only thinning which was really visable was the crown area... but the rest of my hair was pretty thick. Once I started finasteride I noticed a huge difference of my hair density... I stopped the drug s month ago and everything just seems to have come to a halt... I am not shedding at all.

The only minor difference I can really mention is the increase of sebum production after stopping the drug... Does this mean my hair will never look the same as it did before I started finasteride? I seriously believe that my hair was better off before I even started finasteride...

EDIT: Also forgot to mention my hair has lost so much volume while on finasteride as well.

Note: I also dropped Saw Palmetto and Nettle Extract at the same time.

So you're about a year on from before starting finasteride, so now that you've quit your loss will have caught up and your male pattern baldness will basically have progressed 1 year.

Are you saying your hair was getting worse while you were on the drug? If so why did you keep using it for 7 months?

Also were you actually getting sides or was it just fear of sides that made you quit?

Well I had doctors telling me I wasn't going bald... so I wasn't sure what to do. So I stopped every hairloss treatment / supplements apart from Nizoral. How will it have progressed a year?

My hair felt as if it was getting worse, but members on here told me to continue to drug... but nothing major happened.... so I felt as if I should quit it. Plus I beliebed I was suffering from side effects and my paranoia was too much to handle... I will go back on finasteride if my hair gets worse for any reason...

In the mean time has anyone got any input?

Thanks

theres no question finasteride is a risk.

but nevertheless, i don't think 7 months is enough time. had u have taken it for say 1.5 yrs things may have got alot better. most people are probably worse off after 7 months, but lots of them will improve after 1 yr.

Shouldn't my hait go back to how it was after quitting finasteride...? I am only 18 and it looks like I am a diffuse thinner... I wasn't so paranoid until a couple of days a go after a haircut... =/
