finasteride and diffuse Hairloss

So, my problem is i have diffuse Hairloss (dunno yet why) or at least this is what the doctor said.
It looks like diffuse because i dont have the patterns of androgenic.
My question is if finasteride is effective against this tipe of hairloss too, and if shedding is usual here?
