Yes its a common side effect, but not related to how effective it will be in stopping your male pattern baldness, only time will tell this. Good luck!

ACK! Oh well ... does it stop after a while or will I be forever afflicted with this side?

my acne REALLY flared up intially. now nearing the end of the 4th month and all is normal. i had pretty bad acne in my early teens anyway. and before i began on finasteride/dutasteride combo it was "managebale". whilst in the first 2-3 months the acne was almost as bad as it was during early teens. but now its back to "manageable" again.

HOWEVER, you gotta understand that im on dutasteride, which blocks 5AR-I too (found in skin), so it could be the increasing availablity of dutasteride in my system thats improving my acne.

there are MANY VERY EFFECTIVE treatments for acne, just search for "acne" in the forum. there was a thread about this by me a montt or two ago. you'll find the info there.

Good Luck!
