Finasteride acttive ingredient in powder?

Has anybody ever purchased Finasteride active ingredient instead of buying the pills (proscar, prospecia) ?

I don't think you can get the raw powder.. no point anyway. The tablet is basically all finasteride except for the tablet binding compounds.

If you're really interested, i'm sure you could alchohol extract it. Dissolve the tablets into 100% ethanol, centrifuge to remove the tablet debris, and evaporate the ethanol.
