finasteride 3 days a week vs everyday?

I have been taking proscar pills quarterly everyday. After being broken up into fourths they are 1.25 mg. I want to lower my dosage to around .5 mg. Since the pills are already broken into small pieces they can't be cut any smaller. Going to try taking the 1.25mg pills on Mon, Wed, and Fri only. Do you guys think finasteride is effective taken this way?

I would be interested to know peoples views on this also.

I take mine every other day and it seems fine. I then took it every 2 days and I noticed that my head itched and more DHT was in my system.

I plan to take finasteride once every 2 days and then use spironolactone on the scalp to block an DHT there.

You can cut the 1.25's in half I used to do it with a pill cutter or razor blade, you will lose some powder but it will still be around .5.

Yes but that would be a pain. Was wondering if the drug would be effective taken only 3 days a week.

So far so good. Thanks for the concern. Still have some experimenting to do. I will consider cutting the 1.25 mg pills in half.

I'm reluctant to cut the pills right now. If I find out out minoxidil is the cause of my sides, cutting the pill won't be necessary.

To be honest, at this point I feel both have caused me problems. I feel I am reacting similar to you. I am going to continue the low dose of finasteride with no minoxidil for a little while. When I build up some confidence I may go back to regular doses. Who knows maybe even a very small dose of minoxidil with low doses of finasteride could be okay. Time will tell a lot.

Back to my question of taking finasteride 3 days a week. Surprised no one on here has an answer for me. Thought for sure there would be someone out there that's tried this.
