Not for hair counts no.

Finasteride works by inhibiting the enzyme 5ar1, which has multiple uses in multiple areas of the body.

Among them, it converts testosterone into DHT in the skin and in the blood. However, 1 mg is more than enough for maximum efficiency there.

In contrast, a higher dose is apparently more effective in the prostate, which is what's relevant for a different disease, BPH.

Effectiveness actually peaks around 1.25 mg, so if you tolerate it well it might be a good idea to get proscar and cut it into fourths.
