Finasteride 1mg vs 5 mg question

I've been on finasteride for several months and my hair seems to be holding steady or slightly improving which is good. I was using 1 mg generics and splitting them into 2 for a 0.5 mg dose. I saw my doctor and was able to be switched to the 5 mg pills at pretty much the same price per pill (so obviously can get many more doses now). I've been cutting the 5 mg pills into 4 pieces, so this should be about 1.25 mg each assuming I'm somewhat balanced in the cuts. Here's my question though, the 5 mg pill doesn't physically look bigger than the 1 mg pills I had been taking. And once cut into quarters they each look alot smaller than the 1 mg pills then they should be slightly larger (being 1.25 mg). Does the 1 mg pill just contain some filler or is it possible there is a problem with my prescription? The box does clearly say 5 mg.

Thanks

Don't worry, you deff have 5mg finasteride if the box says that. A finasteride tablet can weigh 150mg, but only contain 1mg or 5mg, so yes, its mainly fillers in the tabs.
