Hey guys,

After battling with hairloss for almost 4 years, I finally realised I was getting nowhere and have now got a more permanent solution; SMP.

This is how my hair was before, pretty thin throughout the middle, but I still maintained a decent hairline.

I did a pretty decent job of covering this with fibres and some dry shampoo and I was on finasteride for the last17 months hoping throughout that it would perform some miracle, but unfortunately that wasnt the case.

Eventually I got tired of the 20 minute morning routine of making sure my hair was perfect before leaving the house (and clearing up fibres which got everywhere!). Fed up of the worry of going outside if it was raining, always needed an umbrella. And fed up of it affecting things like being able to take my kids swimming... which is ridiculous.

I had looked at hair transplants, but after seeing that most were very costly, and didn't always last, SMP seemed like a good alternative. For those who dont know, it stands for Scalp Micro Pigmentation and is essentially tiny dots tattooed all over the head to mimic the look of shaved hair.

Having just had my 3rd and final treatment this morning, this is my hair now;

Its still a little red and the dots prominent, but this will settle massively over the next day or so and the dots shrink down to be unnoticeable.

Since doing this (first treatment a month ago) it has been a breath of fresh air. I would encourage anyone thinking of it to bite the bullet, no more stressing out over my hair, I've been swimming for the first time in years and i can get ready in record time now!

While it was a shock to have a shaved head at first, hardly anyone has commented and just assumed ive gone for a new look.

Anyways, just thought i would share my experience for anyone thinking of it!

Yeah, i legit just look like a buzz-cut. Jugding by the puctures you still have some hair left up top, which is a good thing when it comes to SMP.

I'm just curious, is an SMP that is performed well able to achieve a 3D look in all lighting conditions?

Does look impressive and suits you, you need to have a good dome and rounded shaped head to pull it off though, I once considered this but then saw a ytube vid on two big downfalls the first is you have to shave your nut every other day or so, not sure I could stomach that much shaving.

The second was a guy in his late 40s and he looked like a pickled onion straight from the jar of vinegar it just did not suit him at all, this micro pigmentation look suits young guys in there teens and 20s and early 30s. Its when you get 35-40+ everything can go down hill shockingly fast and some guys age over night. Not trying to scare people but trust me something goes awfully funky when you get to your late years.

I think id rather save 2-3k and go europe and get a hair transplant but that is due to my age of 40+

Looks great. Definitely looks like something that would look good on me as well, especially since I buzz my head already. I think if my current regimen doesn't work out in a year, I'll go this route. How much did it cost?

I'm actually considering the same thing. If one can manage to keep some hair on top or transplant some hair across the scalp, and SMP the rest to give the illusion of a buzzcut, i would love this solution. A nice frame to the face and def. younger looking.

it looks good on you @Jim-101 but that's because you still have a real hairline and some hair all across your scalp, which gives the smp a 3d illusion.

smp looks like a joke on guys with no hairlines and barely any hair at all.

and for those of you who told him to save for transplants- from my experience hair specialists don't really want to do transplants on diffuse hair loss. I've been rejected by basically anyone I asked consulted because of that.

they claim hair transplant on diffuse hairloss will cause a big shock loss that will result in the scalp basically looking as if no transplant was done, because tons of hair will fall around the transplanted hair and the scalp will end up looking diffused as it was before the transplant.
