Finally buzzed hair off to show full extent of hair loss. Your thoughts?

So I've had a few people on here tell me that I'm not really losing hair. This is due to my hair being long enough to cover everything. This pic was taken a few days ago...

I've finally decided to go "naked" and fully expose my hair loss for you all to see. 0 setting on my buzzer, all around evenly. Top, sides, and back. I also did it to allow minoxidil to more easily reach my scalp. So here it is guys. Tell me what you think, and if you think my situation is salvageable. Thanks...

That actually looks good on you man. Even if you didnt have hairloss (I dont know if you do or not), I would still go with the shaved look. It looks better on you than with hair.

you have a mature hairline.

I was under the impression from these boards that mature hairlines don't actually exist. It's just slower recession.

it looks good because you have nw1 hairline and a nice dome

Someone who is Norwood+ will tell you you have no hairloss. You shouldnt believe them.

When posting on threads like this consider that a lot of people here are like bald so they will give you bad advice.

I recommend that you keep using finasteride and since you started minoxidil you cant stop.

You definityly do have hairloss, I see it much easier in the first pic. There are many miniaturized hairs towards the front of your hairline and you have a thin hairline. Looks like NW2.

Stay on treatment and good luck.

As opposed to getting advice from who, dermatologists... who half the time have never heard of finasteride?

I recommend that you keep using finasteride and since you started minoxidil you cant stop.

Where did you hear that minoxidil use cannot be stopped?

Stop lying to the guy.

hair looks thin at the front when grown out, but buzzed down looks like a full head of a hair.

hair looks thin at the front when grown out, but buzzed down looks like a full head of a hair.

That could potentially be just a visual effect, or it could be that when my hair was grown out, it was hard to notice new hairs filling in (from my minoxidil and finasteride use) and now that everything is even length, it looks more filled in.

I'm hoping it's the latter.

How long have you been on minoxidil/finasteride? Even with the long hair I see like minor thinning (if any) and minor temple recession. You either got really good gains or were barely balding to begin with. Plus you can pull off the shaved down look good.

I've been on Minoxidil for about 1.5 months and finasteride 31 days. It's not likely I have new growth already, but it's possible. I will grant everyone that I didn't have a lot of hair loss like some posters here, but for me, in my mind, it was significant. I have resigned myself to the fact that I will be on minoxidil and finasteride (and keto) for the rest of my life. I'm fine with that. I hope to *maybe* get back to a NW1.5 or better, but I'd be happy to maintain NW2. Long story short, I'm not giving up the finasteride/minoxidil. Can't risk it.

Well if you are balding at least you caught it in its really really early stages.

wow your hairline is perfect. I see very slight recession but basically looks like you don't have any hair loss. You should just stay on finasteride. You don't need minoxidil lol
