Few questions about Rogaine Foam..

I used the minoxidil liquid for a few months but I couldn't apply it reguarly because the drying times were so impractical (I would get in late and have to go bed soon e.t.c) and it left my scalp a dry flaky mess.

However, ive noticed my temples are started to look thinner than usual (my hairlines still straight, but ive got a feeling they want to start receeding very sooon) and even though Im taking finasteride/Nizoral Im thinking of applying the foam to my temples only. I know it might not work, but it's worth a try, Im pretty sure finasteride doesnt generally work in regrowing the temples and I don't want to risk losing my temples any more by waiting to see if finasteride does a miracle job (only been on it for a month).

Was wondering couple of things, does this foam dry alot quicker? How quick are we talking? Does it still leave the scalp as flaky and dry as the liquid topical solution and also does it have any visible effect for a few hours after its applied?

Thanks guys!

The foam dries faster,is less greasy and I haven't had any visible effects after applying it.I feel for me it dries in 5 to 10 minutes max.Although I feel the liquid might be more effective particularly if you have longer hair.Anyway I have been on the foam for a year and noticed a fair amount of peach fuzz in my temples after using it for a couple of months.

Cool. My hairs pretty much always buzzed from the 0.5 to 2 range so applying it should be easy.

Would you recommend I jump on the foam strasight away or ride the finasteride/nizoral for a few more months before dedicating to minoxidil?
Cheers fella

You have only been on finasteride for a month.Give it a minimum of 6 months and if you aren't satisfied, then add the foam.

Yeah I figured. Just hope I dont lose alot of ground on my temple.

btw, I was closely observing my temples right now and noticed a few things which maybe you could explain please :)

1) There are quite a few peach fuzz or vellus hairs there, I don't know if these are new sprout hairs or hairs that are literally about to die and never come back :(

2) The hairs in the temple region are thinner and shorter and the overally density is alot less, assuming ive lost quite alot of hairs permanently. Or they are vellus/less seeable. However, form a front, I still maintain a straight hairline, is this how it works.

I always thought the temples would slowly rise on each side but whats happening to me is that the area on my temples where my hairline would eventually rise to is thinning at once but the hairline is staying intact. Odd? :S

Mine is kind of like yours, my whole hairline is kind of going instead of just the temples

finasteride seems to have stopped it but it hasnt regained its density

I have a lot of those tiny vellus hairs on my right temple and i THINK a bunch of them have grown out, hopefully that's what I'm seeing and I'm not in denial about it miniaturizing...I don't think I am, it seems like new hair growth.

left temple still sucks.

The front of the hairline hasn't changed at all but no sign of regrowth (like the left)

I am considering adding minoxidil. I got minoxidil liquid but a lot of people here seem to prefer the foam so much more, I might buy it and start with that.

I've been on finasteride for 4.5 months...I have a double crown and the left "spiral" has more or less started to fill in this past month, the right seems to be doing better. Overall density hasn't improved but it wasn't totally bad (yet) to begin with, but has a ways to go

I have 5 mg fincar from InHouse pharmacy, cipla made

I am sure its real, I have had minor sides from it. after 3 months the itching on my head has stopped and i don't shed nearly as much as i used to, hair feels better but still waiting for some real regrowth on the hairline

thats why i'm considering adding minoxidil foam

also my side effects have pretty much went away
