Few interesting thoughts

I had extremely thick hair once, never had any signs of thinning.
And very little body hair.

Once i started steroids my body hair went up, and my head hair thinned out, i also found my facial hair would grow back alot quicker.

Now that im off steroids, my head hair has stopped thining/falling out, my facial hair takes longer to grow, and when i waxed say my stomach it grew back to the state of not much hair like before i took the steroids.

So im guessing all this is attritubed to high DHT levels, now since im off the steroids im curious to see if my hair will naturally thicken up, or if i could use rogaine and thicken up the hair then when i stop using it, it will stay that way since my hair doesnt fall out with my natural hormone levels.

I understand that once treatment is stopped your hair will return to the condition before treatment, eg hair falling out again.

But my hair doesnt fall out naturally, so if i stop treatment and it returns back to normal conditions, it wont fall out.

ill give you some quick info

hair loss is larely caused by dht which is a derivative of T.
some peoples hair is sensitive to dht and some people arent.
People who are sensitive to dht are "programmed" to start losing hair at a certain age...could be 18 could be 30.
when you take steroids...they are basically synthetic testerone...some of that gets converted to DHT...and now your body has EVEN more dht and if your follicles are sensitive to it (which yours are) you will start to lose your hair.
Look at someone like canseco who has admitted to using steroids...still PERFECT head of hair...his hair isnt sensitive to dht so the extra dht in his system will not effect his hair. Buy someone like you by taking steroids you "triggered" your hair loss soooner then it may have happend had you not messed with steroids (i.e. you may have started to bald at age 30 but b/c you took the steroids at age 22 your balding will begin now)

if you stop the steroids you hair will not just come back....its too late...but by stopping you will def. SLOW DOWN the rate of thinning/hair loss so i would def. do that if i were you. but no, your hair will never be 100% again. 90% of the time when you lose hair on your head it is permanent unless some action is taken (i.e. propecia/rogaine...)

sorry for the bad news.

He is right, your hair will never grow back to 100% after male pattern baldness is triggered.

Yes I understand completly what you are saying, and i agree with you, im not arguering the point.
I understand about DHT being derived from test and knew all of this before I took the steroids. And I understand some peoples hair is sensetive to DHT and some are not.

But you are saying that by taking steroids I have somehow changed my hair follicles to be senestive and fall out from a level of DHT that wasnt making them fall out just a couple months before, is this correct?

Do you see what im saying, say my DHT level was 20 (just some random number) my hair never fell out, when i took steroids they made my levels go to 90 which made my hair fall out.
Now my levels are back to 20, your saying the process has started so they will keep falling out? Its just I have mates who have used steroids before and their hair thinned out from it, but they have been off for a while now and there has been no more thinning. Its a tough topic as I dont think any research has been done in purposely raising ones DHT level to study what happens once it returns back to normal.

I think from what I gathered on here that once your hair is triggered by something like roids its as if a light switch has been permanently turned on and there is nothing you can do to stop it except for jumping on meds. Here's a question for the pros, say he were to jump on the big three at the very early stages which it sounds like he is in, what is the number of years you would guess he could stay at least baseline with possibly even a little regrowth?? 5 years, 10 years.....?

its more complicated than what you are making it out to be...and i wont make believe like i have the answers....NO ONE fully understands male pattern baldness yet.

but once the hair begins thinning stopping the roids will not bring you back to your pre-roid state. Once male pattern baldness nothing can stop it..(except cutting your balls off)...all we have are things which can slow it down (propecia) and things that can create an offset of growth (rogaine).

you have to undertand that your follicle is damaged once the dht starts to attack it....and once its damaged i dont think it will ever be perfect again...thats the sad truth

Ive i were you id drop the 'roids and get on propecia + nizoral + and a Piroctone olamine shampoo.

Dont feel too bad....you were gonna start balding at some point anyway
