Female pattern hair loss (added pics)

I wonder if I´m using the correct treatments.

My hair loss pattern is not the usual male pattern. I can´t see my pattern in the Norwood scale. I suit the Ludwig scale for female pattern hair loss. (Branco, I know, I´m no lady, I´m no lady-man, I´ve been a man since I was born).

It´s thinning in the top, with a wider parting of the hair, more noticeable at the crown. I´ve heard that doctors prescribe minoxidil for women with relative good succes. I´ve tried minoxidil for more than a year with no results.

I wonder if someone got any idea about what I´m talking about, or any article about this, or anything about female pattern alopecia developing in men. I´m quite interested and any income will be appreciated

I´ve just take some pics. I been growing my hair after buzzing it. Finasteride turned it into a disaster. I thought it was improving, but I´m back at were I was at month 3. Crap status.

Judge for yourself.

Notice thinning sides as well. It´s killing my patience. But what can I do??. Wait, wait, wait. I think I´m gonna buzz that mess down again.

Also when I grow my hair longer it becomes less noticeable, unless in the crown area.

But it doesn´t fit me having long hair, my hair doesn´t look good when it´s too long, thinning zones get covered, yeah, but my hair seems like a big black ball over my head.

And how ya doin with treatments??

i guess long hair works for some, not others. i always had short hair, until 2 yrs ago when i just decided to grow it out & suprisingly enough it suited me. unfortunately male pattern baldness had to kick in 6 months later

i've been on propecia for 2 months now. went through a mini shed after 2/3 weeks, but since then my hairloss seems to be slowing (i.e. less than baseline rate). still loosing my hair though, but i'm hoping the rate will slow to a stop. i'm optimistic that Propecia will work for our kind of thinning.

also using nizoral/t-gel and a multivitamin.

you can have a look at my story in the tell your story section - though i haven't updated for a few weeks.

Ho solo,

I don't think you suffer from "female" pattern loss. Female pattern looks different. it usualy begins in the middle of the scalp ("coronal suture" in anathomy) and SPEARDS from the centre to the sides. Norwood scale and Ludwig scale are based on the average patterns of hairloss. This means there can be other patterns which are still male patterns but they won't "appear" on these scales. And it's just normal. I saw your pics and it looks to me like a mix between difused thinning and normal male hairloss.

Now...
How long have you been using Propecia? Have you tried other concentration of minoxidil other than 5% (e.g 12.5% or 15%)?

My suggestions for you are the following:

1. In case you have been using Propecia for less than a year stick to it and give it and give it some more time. If it's been more than a year and it made no difference or made things worse leave it and save money.

2. Try the 12.5% xandrox lotion or 15% solution from Dr. Lee (http://www.xandrox.com) and for the application at night use minoxidil with retinoic acid. It makes the difference. Really improves the treatment.

3. I have started to use Eucapil. (http://www.eucapil.com) and so far it looks very promising. It's too early to say whether this stuff works because it's been only 2 months but I have noticed less shed and it's really easy and nice to use.

P.S if you speak Spanish please write me a private message so that we can talk in Spanish without bothering the non spanish speakers...jejejeje

Good luck!!! Tell us how you're doing.
