.
My friend Tony had an adverse reaction to finasteride after only 10 days when most of his hair fell out but he continued anyway believing it was a healthy shed. Over the next few weeks he discovered he had also become impotent. The doctors later said that the stress of the impotence and massive hairloss as well as the resulting break up with his girlfriend probably contributed to his heart attack but they're just not sure.....

Only joking  Use finasteride as well it protects the entire scalp.. Anyway if I where you I wouldn't worry too much it sounds as though your just going through your second shed which normally comes at around the 8/9 month period as hair has a 6 month grouth cycle...

the thing is if vitamin tablets do cause something people can stop taking them and that's that...

If we stop taking propecia the hair will fall out AND our hormones will be messed with...

How do you know this? You can also state: "If you stop taking vitamines then our vitamin levels are messed with again!" Get real, dude. If you stop taking Propecia then your hormone levels will return to NORMAL, not causing more problems - except for your hair that is!

but I like to think I'm pretty enough to make it less important...but I can't go properly bald or I'd rather die!

Agree.

you're both legends! Maybe it is just a 6 month shed but it seems like a pretty harsh shed... but maybe you're right but it should have grown back by now as it shedded 2 months ago.

Well I'm going to go for propecia. The side effects seem to be for a small minority and it's maintenance that's the key - and hopefully the minoxidil will work alongside and help it grow!

Has anyone around the age of 18-21 been taking finasteride though? That's my final worry - I'm still quite young. I need as much as I can get to persuade my parents it's worth taking

oh and so this proxiphen stuff seems to be worthwhile only after trying minoxidil and finasteride to no success yeh?

What about Revivogen? Is that any good?

Basically is propecia better or worse than these two?

Listen: minoxidil or finasteride alone is likely to do you no good. You need to attack hairloss from different angles. Don't waste years on a single-treatment like I did.

Big 3 is the best action.

Okay I am definately going to try and add to the minoxidil and nizoral. I'm trying to establish which - revivigen, dutasteride or propecia...

And no, Proxi is equally good even if you haven't tried minoxidil. Why not go for the full monty right away?

because it's ridiculously expensive!

If you have mild hair loss, any one of the above products might do the trick, but if you have heavy to moderate hair loss, than I assure you, you will need to attack it with multiple products and from various angles.
Yep so big 3 or one of the newer products?

$33 a month for a year and after that $17 a month - you think that's expensive? Think of the convenience that you only have to apply this ONCE a day (before bed-time) and after a year only every second day.

The thread says it's $100 for a bottle - which is about £60 in the current exchange rate. I know you say it lasts you three months but you're only thinning on the front - my thinning is on the crown to create an eventual bald spot so I would need more than you so would work out expensive. It is great only needing it once a day though but £60 per month plus shipping is a lot!

You need a systemical - like Propecia or Dutasteride. Don't take Revivo instead of a systemical, but if you want as a supplement. And start with propecia - Dutasteride is way to powerful (also in a bad way) for a newbie like you :p

so revivo could work alongside finasteride - would it be better to use than minoxidil then? Or would it be better to use finasteride, minoxidil and revivo? Okay so dutasteride would be better to use later but seems a bit...powerful at this stage (and there's still much more to learn about it).

Okay so it looks like propecia is the way forward. Thanks a lot man for all this information it's made it all a lot easier to understand as a lot of the stuff here is very scientific which goes over my head!

I'm still confused about proxi though..it seems confusing because some say it's expensive and you say it isn't. I need a bit of cash alongside for dermatch...

yep I'm trying to find a way of getting finasteride now. Think I may have to talk to a doctor first (not my choice - my parents want to talk to a Doctor first) but then I'll be on the way.

I'll look into proxi maybe later. Regaine is a lot easier to get and it did work a treat in the first few months so I'll stick with it...

well I WAS overjoyed with it. Now I'm not so sure - but I'm not going to give up on it as I think it should work again soon...

one more question...

went onto qhi.co.uk and looked at the proscar tablets, and it said

qhi.co.uk said:
Finasteride can reduce the ability to detect prostate cancer. Therefore, any possibility of prostate cancer should be ruled out before beginning taking this medication

:freaked2: is this actually true as I've never heard about this! What does everyone else think?
