Hello, I have been lurking around these forums for some weeks now and think it is a great site to ask for some wisdom. I am scared to death about potential hairloss. Currently I don't think I have started yet, but I have a double crown with two big cowlicks so it might seem like I am balding in the crown. I have taken pictures over the last year and can't say it is any worse. The problem is I have become obsessed with balding. I am a short dude 167 cm and fear I might end up short and bald. I joined these forums because my father is a Norwood 6. I have went trough my family tree to find out what chances I have of keeping my hair. I have read that the onset and aggresivnes of hairloss is inherited, is this true? My father was really thin and balding at 20. His older brother is over 60 with nice hair. Their father was quite bald I think and his father again had hair. On my mother side there is no male pattern baldness. My maternal grandfather had hair when he died and my mothers two brothers have no male pattern baldness. My mothers oldest brother is 64 and he has nice thick hair. I am soon to be 25 and my mother says I have hair nothing like my father. My older brother is 31 and has no male pattern baldness, my younger brother is 22 and has bad hair. Not sure actually if he is balding since some on my mothers side have bad hair, but they don't go bald. Can I assume I have most likely avoided the balding gene since I am older than my father when he started loosing his hair? Unfortunately I don't have the neccesarry equipment to upload photos at this moment. But my hairline has stayed put I have a mole at my hairline so it is easy to monitor, the double crown is frustrating since it might seem I go bald, but I can live with it as long it doesen't get any worse. My mother also has a visible crown due to cowlick does that mean anything at all?
