Chest pains, facial bloating, forehead wrinkles and dark circles in just 8 weeks!!! Wtf. Some regrowth, went from Norwood 4 to 3v. Could get better in time but This is definitely not worth it. I’m not risking all these sides worsening or even persisting just for hair. I’m also not risking being internally castrated by finasteride. I’ll dermaroll, use saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil extract, and oils to try to get my hair back while exploring a hair transplant in a couple years. None of the pharmaceutical treatments are worth it to me now. This is just a warning to anyone considering it. Try natural solutions. Google them, they’re out there with a handful of studies supporting their efficacy.

To be fair, I didn’t have these problems to this extent when i used actual rogaine. Still, I’m done with otc treatments and not willing to try prescription treatment for hair presently.

I will update once I find success at restoring my hairline using different, natural methods.

Yeah, Natural is a waste if time. I agree that if I was in your spot I'd just get a really nice hair system.

Just get a hairsystem

''Natural treatments'' is just coping hard. They don't work.

No offense guys, but I would never in a million hairs put a hair piece on my head to deceive people. I’d try about anything else to get my hair back except for that. No way. I’ll give natty a shot and go from there. I already wear it short so it’s not too bad.

Here’s the studies to prove I’m not crazy for thinking natural stuff could work:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4017725/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/25842469/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2840915/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4843973/

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4289931/

Look at all these studies supporting efficacy of natural stuff comparable to finasteride and minoxidil!!!!

If anyone wants to read through these and poke holes in them to disprove them as legitimate options, be my guest. I would love for someone to prove to me why I, or anybody else, shouldn’t waste their time on them.

I know somebody who knows somebody who had amazing success allegedly using just oils. I saw a before and after and it was a badly balding girl who went to having a full head of hair. That’s anecdotal, but there’s studies above backing up her claim that it was all natural oils to restore her hair.

Did the studies go to sh*t? They were on male pattern baldness. That was just an anecdotal example that someone told me about personally, which is why I ended up discovering all these studies.

I.e. “Effects of Pumpkin Seed oil on men with androgenic alopecia”. But ya, my example ruined that whole study

Well, Pumpkin seed oil is a DHT blocker. So is finasteride, why not just take finasteride? It's the same thing, really. Pumpkin seed oil is just way weaker to a point where results are insignificant

Why are you so afraid of trying finasteride? You do know you can just quit it if you experience sides?

1 and 3 are natural but work exactly as finasteride (DHT reduction) so what is the point? Even hemlock is natural. But it killed Socrates.

2. Compares rosemary oil to minoxidil TWO per cent, which no one uses as it is not efficient

4. Is a test on mice, which is a total waste of time

5. Still mice.

Rodents DO NOT have male pattern baldness, what is the point of these studies I do not know.

If I read correctly, pumpkin seed oil reduces DHT, finasteride stops it from being converted. They have different mechanisms of actions. I don’t think sexual sides are commonly reported on pso. In fact, I’ve read people say that it increases their libido.
Why are you so afraid of trying finasteride? You do know you can just quit it if you experience sides?
I’m not totally opposed to trying finasteride, but I want to try a lot of things before I go to something with finasterides reputation.

Doean’t Pso and saw palmetto reduce DHT and finasteride blocks it from being converted? I’m pretty sure I’ve read that this is how they differ, different mechanism of action.
Also you can’t dismiss a study entirely because it was done on mice. Studies are done on animals all the time not because people want to know how to help mice regrow hair, but because it could also benefit humans.

Hence, “In addition, PEO effectively stimulated hair growth in an animal model via several mechanisms and thus could be used as a therapeutic or preventive alternative medicine for hair loss in humans” being a conclusion for the peppemint oil study on mice.

While not all diseases and treatments in mice are comparable to humans a lot of them are, which is why they’re commonly used in studies.

Good luck with whatever you do bro
Thanks. Call me crazy, but my goal is to get back to Norwood 1 and maintain there for a long time. Some guys have done it with conventional methods, I’m gonna try and get it done with alternative, healthier methods. We’ll see what happens.

And yet
Minoxidil => casual observation on men
Finasteride => casual observation on the Guevedoce
