Extremely fast hairloss

I know not too many black guys post on this forum but maybe you guys can help me. It began when I was 20 and I would wake up for a week straight and my hair began to shed profusely, I would see hair all over my pillow and shirts everyday. It was thin like this for 2 months then grew back so I was not to worried after and I was not on any regimen for it to grow back. Now I am 22 and the past 4 month my hair has has been shedding at a extreme rate almost alarming. I also was once losing hair on the side of my head right behind my ears but that also stopped and grew back. I went to a dermatologist and had a biopsy done on my scalp on a thinning spot and they told told me it was negative for androgenic alopecia and I tried minoxidil which made everything much worse. So what are you guys opinions and here are some pics below

That seems abnormal, you have lost many hairs in short amount of time. Were you are under high level of stress the past six months? I think that you are suffering from Alopecia Areata since you have lost hair on the side in the past, or it could be just diffuse thinning. Have you done some blood-work? Perhaps you are deficient in some vitamins or minerals, if not I'd suggest you do it as soon as possible. Furthermore, do you have any hair loss in your family?

the hair loss affect only in the top of the head?
did you notice changes in sebum or hair fat?
